Today I leave to have my cool drink of (homeschooling) water. I will be attending the Texas Home School Coalition Conference. Can I get a yee haw?
In celebration, I am having a few giveaways! Can I get another yee haw?
Each of these giveaways is connected to one of my favorite speakers at the conference.
First: The Evolution of a Creationist
Dr. Jobe Martin is probably a genius. The man is amazing. He has a heart for sharing the truth, for helping others see God’s majesty, and for encouraging homeschoolers. I’ve heard him speak a couple of times, as well as met his precious wife, and have never forgotten his sessions. That’s saying something, right? He wrote The Evolution of a Creationist to share his journey as a biologist.
Dr. Martin also has some terrific videos for kids: Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution. Check them out!
Second: a Voddie Baucham book: What He Must Be, Family Driven Faith, or Family Shepherds.
Voddie Baucham is probably one of the most dynamic preachers you will ever hear. He is bold. I like bold. The winner of this giveaway will get to choose which paperback (or Kindle) copy of this book he/she would like. You will be encouraged and challenged no matter which book you get. Seriously. I want them all, but have none. That shall be remedied at the conference. Should I get another photo with him?
Third: Total Truth by Nancy Pearcey
Last year I heard Dana Tillman speak and my brain could barely keep up, though I was super excited. Mr. Tillman helped me see some of the important concepts behind classical education that I had missed. He is brilliant and passionate about making sure we train our children to know, live out, and defend their worldview (He has some amazing worldview classes!) . He is just as passionate about teaching others to see that everyone and everything has a worldview. Learning to discern this is very important. I walked away from his booth with two amazing books: Total Truth and The Deadliest Monster. Total Truth is the big chunk of learning worldview. Deadliest Monster is the little bite.
There you have them: three of my favorite conference speakers. I’m also pumped to get to hear (and maybe meet… you never know with me!) Susan Wise Bauer for the first time. Can I get yet another yee haw?
While I hear these fabulous teachers, you can pretend to be with me at the conference by entering the giveaways! ;-)
Share the love to earn more entries. Books will not be mailed out to the winners until I recover from the conference goodness, the eating out, and the chocolate almond overdose.
Have you heard/read any of these teachers?
This giveaway is open to anyone with a US mailing address. I will accept entries until Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 12:01AM Eastern. I will select a winner using Rafflecopter, and notify him/her by email. Winner has 72 hours to respond before the prize is forfeited and a new winner is chosen. This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, nor associated with Facebook. By entering, you release Facebook from any responsibility and understand that the information entered on this form will not be disclosed to Facebook.

I’d love to win either the evolution book or the culture book. They both sound great!
I would love to win Total Truth (already have Dr. Martin’s book). My kids are quickly approaching high school age and will have to have a solid Christian worldview before they leave home. This book would help us to do just that!
These all sound intriguing. As my dh is not much of a reader I’d like the first or third most
We recently took an apologetics course so the creationist books looks interesting.
Id love to win the Family Driven Faith book! All the books look great, but that one is most needed in our home right now. Too often the daily grind distracts us from being purposeful about our faith as parents & as a family.
Any of Voddies books! Seriously, love his teachings! and, yes, you SHOULD get another picture with him!
I’d love to win the creation book or the Nancy Pearcey book. I’ve been thinking a lot about culture creeping into Christianity. But, of course, anything about science/creation always fascinates me! Hope you have a great time at the conference! And, I saw on FB that you DID meet SWB!
I want to win either Dr. Martin’s book or Voddie’s book. I loved listening to Voddie at the convention and would really enjoy reading a book of his. I am also very interested in being more equipped to handle evolution vs. creation questions that stem from even my own son.
I would really love for my husband and I to read Voddie Boucham’s book. We are trying to raise our sons to be future family leaders and Voddie is dynamic! I haven’t read any of his books yet!
