January 25th is the day! The day I celebrate my mom’s entrance into our awesome God’s Presence as well as rejoice in the fun woman she was by doing one of the things she most enjoyed: I shoe shop!
I was inspired by this post and all it represented.
To make the day even more fun, I invite you to participate.
My goal is to have 100 shoes in this holiday, whether shoes bought, shoes donated, or money given to Soles 4 Souls! We’ve made or seriously exceeded that goal every time (this is the 5th year).
Here is how you participate (and get entered in the giveaway):
1. Buy a pair of shoes and send me a photo of the shoes (post on my Facebook page or email to me, mindybrouse(at)gmail(dot)com)
2. Donate to Soles 4 Souls in my mama’s name (Georgia Lagarde) and forward the confirmation email to me.
3. Donate 10 or more pairs of used shoes (in good condition) to any charity of your choice and send me a photo of the shoes at the donation center (post on my Facebook page or email to me)
After you do one (or all, if you’re a rock star) of those, you can earn more chances of winning by doing the goodies in the Rafflecopter!
I know my mom would think this way of making a sad day for me into a fun day is hilarious. She’d just love it!
Let’s reach 100, shall we?!
So…. Go forth, and buy shoes!

I didn’t need shoes myself this year, as I bought a pair of new sandals in December (my lovely dogs made it necessary for me to buy early, and the weather made it necessary for me to wear early as well, so I won’t count those ones, even though The Chemist and I did discuss the holiday while I was buying said shoes).
Instead, I put what I would have spent, converted to dollars, and sent a shoe store gift certificate to a friend; I wanted to thank her for helping me with a pretty big deal situation, and I knew she’d not want to accept a thank-you gift unless I tied it into this holiday as well.
I can’t wait to see pics of what she bought with her gift card!
No shoes to donate this year as we donated all the extras last year. I cannot believe this is the 5th year of this. Wow. ((hugs & prayers))
Eden and I got an early start. We bought two pairs of shoes yesterday. Yippee!
Thanks to The Reader, I got a great pair of fun sandals!
I bought shoes for the little men in my life. They have grown so much the last few months and their toes were poking through the ends!
my sister for just graduating college!
Charlotte now has cute, RED shoes.

I goofed up and put that post in your FB page. Duh.
I LOVED the story. Of course, I cried.
