I am enjoying Pilgrim’s Progress currently.  I’ve read that second to the Bible, Pilgrim’s Progress is “the most influential, beloved, and widely distributed book in the English language”.  The story is wonderful and the analogy is truly moving, challenging, and amazing.

Years and years ago, when Noah was five or six or so and HB seven or eight-ish, I heard about a version for children, Little Pilgrim’s Progress.  We read it aloud as a family.  Every night, we followed Little Christian’s journey.

Little Pilgrim's Progress

We laughed.  We thought.  We wept.

Noah loved it so much that he wanted to give a copy to his friend for a fifth birthday gift.  So we did.   :-)

Anyway, as I read the original version, I keep remembering reading this story with my family the first time.  Such precious memories.  I just had to share it with you.

If you have never read Pilgrim’s Progress, I highly suggest you do.  If you’d like to read a version with your young children, grab this sweet, sweet book.

You won’t regret it.

Have you read Pilgrim’s Progress?

Oh, yes, we have loved that story for years. We read the book together. Did a devotional/Bible study together. Bought the audio to it. Then, bought the audio to the 2nd part (Christiana’s Adventure). And we still, after so many years, will find something that brings a part of that story to mind. I wish I had known about the children’s version as that would have been great. It’s been a while since we’ve read/listened, and I’m pretty sure that Caleb doesn’t remember nearly as much as I wish he would as he was still so young. Thank you for pulling that story out and reminding us about it. I think we need to listen/read when we take another trip!!
